Attention All Employers - Revised Form I-9: Employment Eligibility Verification
Form I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. All U.S. employers must ensure proper completion of Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment in the United States. Form I-9 may be used for any new hires effective March 8, 2013. The form is available for immediate use by employers. Employers who need to make necessary updates to their business processes to allow for use of the new Form I-9 may continue to use other previously accepted revisions (Rev. 02/02/09 and Rev. 08/07/09) until May 7, 2013. After May 7, 2013, all employers must use the revised Form I-9 for each new employee hired in the United States. It is not necessary to have current employees complete the new form, this is only for new hires.

Attention All Employers - Family and Medical leave Act (FMLA)
The Dept. of Labor has issued a new Family and Medical leave Act (FMLA) poster to replace the poster currently used. Covered employers (employers with 50 or more employees) may use the enclosed new poster, with a revision date of February 2013, immediately or may use the old FMLA poster through March 7. The new poster summarizing major FMLA provisions and telling employees how to file a complaint,
must be posted by covered employers by March 8, 2013.
If you do not have 50 or more employees this year or in 2012 then this does not apply to you.
The new poster reflects changes made by the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010 and the final rules, published in the Federal Register on February 6, which included a broadened definition of veteran to include a veteran discharged within the past five years. The revised poster also notes that the FMLA definitions of “serious injury or illness” for current service members and veterans are distinct from the FMLA definition of “serious health condition.”
View and print the new poster here.
